•First of all you should check whether there is the manufacturer's name on the packaging, instead of a packaging company or an inscription "manufactured for..." and the name of a store chain.
•It is a good sign when the packaging specifies the standard on the basis of which the product was made – this means that the product meets the specific parameters.
•The packaging - if only a fragment of it is transparent or has a window, you should check it for dust or small deformed grains.
•Avoid especially groats packed in cardboard boxes, if the manufacturer is not specified on the packaging, trust for the company is of special importance here.
•Avoid grossly low prices.
•Check the use-by date if you know that you will not use the whole packaging at once.
•It is a good idea to smell buckwheat groats, as sometimes it has a distinct odour of mould, which should not happen.
